Digital Strike – Targeted Marketing is all about activating our clients’ search superpowers. That’s exactly what we did for our client HyperFiber, which delivers fiber optic internet services to traditionally underserved areas. In June 2023, we launched the brand with a killer sitemap and aggressive SEO strategy, all complemented with targeted ads.
Here's how it all went down.
The fiber optic internet industry is booming… in a select few areas. More rural, less affluent locations, however, still lack affordable, easy access to these services. With more and more of today’s world relying on a stable internet connection, this lack of accessibility is a major problem.
That’s where HyperFiber comes in.
HyperFiber helps these populations get the high-speed, stable internet services they need for online schooling, remote work, and more. While this goal is a worthy one, delivering these services can be difficult.
That’s where Digital Strike comes in.
We knew we had a tough task. We had to break down the benefits fiber internet could provide, like the stable high-speed connection they need to be competitive in school and work. We then had to convince people with limited resources that investing their hard-earned money in HyperFiber’s services, not their competitors’, would be worth it.
Traditional digital marketing wisdom would put ads front and center. While ads have their place, we believed this target audience wasn’t interested in making quick decisions based on a single ad alone. No, we thought that this target audience would respond better to an approach rooted primarily in organic SEO, complemented by some targeted and retargeted ad campaigns. This strategy could meet people at every stage in the buyer’s journey, and at their own pace as well.
In a world dominated by a now, now, now mentality, we knew we had to play the long game with SEO.
Our team put their heads together to craft a well-researched sitemap that could convince the client’s target audience to move further along the buyer’s journey. It starts with detailed plans for service pages targeting the right keywords, so HyperFiber could show potential customers that it has the exact services they need to stay connected. We then build the brand as a topical authority by outlining educational blogs for popular queries. It continues with location-specific pages to catch local traffic to catch people towards the end of their buyer’s journey. It culminates in high-authority link acquisition, backed by our 80-point quality standard.
Once HyperFiber approved our plan, we got to work implementing a sitewide overhaul along with additional local SEO measures, like polishing the client’s Google Business Profile accounts and optimizing their Name, Address, Phone Number (NAP) across the web.
The results blew our client away.
When we launched in June 2023, HyperFiber’s site ranked for just 2 keywords on Google Search. By June 2024, the rankings were much, much different: HyperFiber ranked for 1156 keywords, 44 of which were in the top 10 results.
This SEO strategy opened new opportunities that pushed HyperFiber’s bottom line. The client ran 11 marketing channels, and SEO was the largest single contributor of orders. Of HyperFiber current subscribers, roughly 28% made a purchase as a result of our organic and local SEO strategy.
It was clear that our focus on SEO, with ads playing a supportive role, for this client was a winning strategy. It’s because we knew that, while SEO can be slower to take hold, it is able to do what ads alone cannot: consistently deliver brand-related content that builds rapport with the client’s target audience, convincing them that HyperFiber is worth the investment.
HyperFiber’s growth speaks to the three Cs that make us Digital Strike. We care enough about the client to compete in a hyper-competitive market. We are curious enough to look beyond the “quick and easy” route. And we are competitive enough to implement a long-term SEO strategy that delivers results. We don’t just apply these core values to HyperFiber, though.
