Job Description & Responsibilities
Internship Overview
We’re looking for students that are passionate about digital marketing and want to gain hands-on experience with agency life. Digital Strike – Targeted Marketing offers a spring/summer internship program for undergraduate students and recent 4-year college graduates. Interns will explore various roles necessary to run a digital marketing agency, including SEO Strategist, Content Strategist, PPC Strategist, Strategic Account Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager, and Social Media Manager.
Timeline
Digital Strike – Targeted Marketing’s Summer Internship starts the first Tuesday in June through the first week of August. (Interns who have vacations have the potential to extend the internship mid-August.)
TWO INTERNSHIP OPTIONS:
For Undergraduates/School Credit:
An opportunity is open for an intern who will participate in the summer or spring 10-week session, and who will then return to school to graduate the following December or May.
This internship is not a paid position; however, the experience offers school credit, provided the academic counselors approve the process.
This unique experience will:
- Provide hands-on experience in digital marketing campaigns
- Position the intern for a successful next semester
- Allows for continued collaboration with DS throughout the following academic semester (or year) on uniquely focused social media initiatives. (The intern returns to school as a DS Brand Ambassador.)
For Graduates/Paid Internship:
An opportunity is open for an intern who has just graduated who is looking for opportunities during the summer or spring (should they be a December graduate).
This internship is a paid position, and it is our hope that the intern will then be able to stay on with the company in a full-time position, should there be a need for the intern’s capability. (i.e., Intern specializes in SEO, and an SEO position is open.)
This internship provides a robust learning environment focused on expanding digital marketing knowledge.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Strategy & Planning
- Conduct keyword research using SEO tools
- Develop content calendars aligned with business objectives and seasonal trends
- Cross-department collaboration to align content with overall marketing strategy
Content Creation & Optimization
- Write engaging, brand-new SEO-optimized copy that aligns with user intent
- Optimize existing content for improved search engine visibility
- Ensure all content follows SEO best practices
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor content performance using various SEO tools
- Explore link-building opportunities and acquisition efforts
- Identify opportunities for content improvement based on data insights
Technical SEO Support
- Assist with basic technical SEO tasks and site audits
- Collaborate with web development team on SEO implementations
- Ensure content follows technical SEO guidelines
Paid Search Strategy
- Help implement and analyze search engine and social media marketing campaigns
- Place ads on platforms like Google, Bing, Meta, and LinkedIn
- Monitor ad spend and adjust as needed to optimize ROI
Strategic Account Management
- Collaborate with clients to learn business goals and create winning strategies
- Take notes during client meetings and document cascading messages
- Work within the Teamwork system to assign tasks and track deadlines
Sales and Marketing
- Ensure consistent internal and external brand voice messaging for Digital Strike
- Support sales team in arranging, preparing for, and following up from client meetings
- Collaborate with social media team to create engaging, shareable social content
- Research business competitors and conduct SWOT analysis for potential new clients
Are You A Good Fit?
Requirements for Ideal Candidate:
- Expected graduation: 2026 or 2027
- Open to option-to-hire opportunities or seeking academic credit
- Demonstrated passion for digital marketing
- Possesses strong attention to detail, active-listening abilities, time management skills, organizational mindset, and note-taking skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior internship or agency experience
- Involvement in digital marketing clubs, organizations, or events
- Referrals/recommendations from professors or industry professionals
- Familiarity with digital tools like Google platforms, SEMrush, and Hubspot
